Old St Peter’s Church, Thurso

Auld St Peter’s Kirk is a ruined parish church on Wilson Lane, in Thurso, Caithness, Scotland. Dedicated to Saint Peter, it dates to at least 1125, and at one time was the principal church for the county, administered by the Bishops of Caithness. John O'Groats, Start/Finish of LEJOG

The Lands End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) challenge is a traverse of the entire length of Great Britain, between the two extremities of Britain’s southwest and northeast. It’s an epic challenge, one that many people dream of completing. The challenge traditionally starts at Lands End, the western point of Cornwall at the end of the Penwith peninsula. From here, you’ll cycle ~900 miles to John O’Groats where the challenge ends. Between Lands End and John O’Groats, you’ll pass over the epic cliffs of Devon, through impressive Lake District countryside, and up into the highlands.

Whaligoe Haven is one of the most remarkable harbours to be found in Scotland – surrounded on three sides by 250 feet cliffs, and is reached by the Whaligoe Steps which zig-zag down the cliffside. Caithness Seacoast

Caithness Seacoast Ltd was started in 2008 by local couple William and Adelaine Munro. The arrival of a new modern marina in Wick Harbour provided the inspiration to start their tour boat company. William has over 44 years seagoing experience (Merchant Navy ship’s captain for over 28 years) and local knowledge. This includes an active role with the local RNLI as a deputy launching authority and water safety officer. He is supported by his wife Adelaine who’s marine experience includes RYA power boat level 2.
